Introduction

In 1999 the Dutch Badminton Association or Badminton Nederland (BN) started a foundation called “Stichting Bevordering Topbadminton” (SBT).

The main goal of the foundation is to promote and support Top level badminton by organizing the main badminton events in the Netherlands.

Since then the foundation has successfully organized the annual Yonex Dutch Open, the Sudirman Cup 2003, the Thomas and Uber Cup Preliminaries 2002 and 2008 (also known as European Team Championships), European Junior Championships 2005 and the European Championships 2006 (Individual).

In cooperation with the software company of Visual Reality the SBT decided to develop new and high standard up to date technology for match planning, live score and match presentation to further improve the profile of its events. The main items of this newly developed software are the tournament planner program and the live score system. This software is now being used by the organizers of important badminton events all over the world.
